Their love and passion towards one another is something else, I genuinely think they might just be my favourite book couple ever. The characters developed even further, and honestly I didn’t think I could love these two anymore than before, but I was so wrong.

The writing, just like the first book was captivating. His thoughts and experiences throughout the war were sometimes hard to read, Alexander’s chapters constantly had me on the edge of my seat with worry for him, his situation just constantly got worse and worse, there were so many times I wondered what was going to happen to him and how he even kept going. The story goes back and forward between Tatiana and Alexander’s POV’s, Tatiana as she makes her way to America, heavily pregnant heartbroken at the thought of her husband being dead, parts of her chapters were devastating, she was so young and went through so much, but I must say, she is definitely one of the strongest female characters I have ever read about, her strength and courage are admirable, this second book shows even more of that.Īnd then their is Alexander, I really love his bravery, boldness, commitment to his fellow soldiers and the war, his courage and the way he handles situations that he faces, He suffered a lot but didn’t lose hope he battled to stay alive for the love of his life. The book begins right where the last one left off, still in the middle of WW11 with Tatiana fighting to get out of Russia and save herself and her child. I listened The Bronze Horseman on Audible and became completely obsessed with this story, as soon as I was finished with the first book I went to get the next one, unfortunately it wasn’t on audible, so I downloaded the kindle version instead, I was a bit worried about not loving it as much now that I wasn’t just simply listening, but I was so wrong, I adored it, if was over 700 pages long, yet I devoured it in two days, these stories are so captivating, Alexander and Tatiana are truly amazing character, written so well. Yet Alexander is determined to take his men through the ruins of Europe in one last desperate bid to escape Stalin’s death machine and somehow find his way to Tatiana once again.

Meanwhile, oceans and continents away in the Soviet Union, Alexander barely escapes execution, and is forced to lead a battalion of soldiers considered expendable by the Soviet high command.

She becomes consumed by the belief that her husband, Red Army officer Alexander Belov, is still alive and needs her desperately. But the ghosts of her past do not rest easily. Tatiana is eighteen years old, pregnant, and widowed when she escapes war-torn Leningrad to find a new life in America.
